Cornice refers to an ornamental molding or border at the edge of the ceiling of a room or under the roof of a building. They are generally made of wood or plaster in angular or circular shapes. In some cases, they are also flat and can be made of other materials.\n<\/p>\n

The word\u2019 cornice\u2019 originates from the Latin word \u2018coronis\u2019 meaning a curved line.\u2019 Its origin can be traced back to Greece and Roman architecture. Cornice serves aesthetic purposes but they also help in preventing damage to the building.\n<\/p>\n
