A trellis is an open frame made from wood, metal, or other materials built in an intersecting pattern<\/a>. In gardens, it\u2019s used to support plants that climb, like vines and roses.\n<\/p>\n

Today, people also use trellises inside buildings as decorations. They can act as room dividers, covers for walls, or added design details to furniture. The repeating shapes of a trellis give a room more depth and makes it look stylish and interesting.\n<\/p>\n

\nA lattice is a special kind of trellis where the pieces cross each other in diagonal lines.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Types of Trellis<\/h2>\n

Trellises can be made in lots of different patterns. Here are five common styles:\n<\/p>\n

  • Classic Diamond:<\/strong> The sticks cross to make diamond shapes. It\u2019s a timeless look that fits in almost any room.<\/li>\n
  • Moroccan:<\/strong> Curvy, fancy shapes inspired by Islamic architecture. It gives a space an exotic, \u201cfar\u2011away\u201d feel.<\/li>\n
  • Quatrefoil:<\/strong> Four\u2011leaf clover shapes. It reminds people of old Gothic or Renaissance buildings.<\/li>\n
  • Chinese Chippendale:<\/strong> Straight lines that form geometric patterns, inspired by Chinese design. It\u2019s often used in more traditional rooms.<\/li>\n
  • Contemporary Geometric:<\/strong> Simple, bold shapes for a modern look.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Application of Trellis in Interior Design<\/h2>\n

    Trellises aren\u2019t just for gardens; they can be used in multiple ways to add visual interest. You can add them indoors in the following ways:\n<\/p>\n

    • Wall Decoration:<\/strong> Use trellis panels or wallpaper to add texture and pattern.<\/li>\n
    • Room Dividers:<\/strong> Freestanding trellis screens can split a big room into smaller areas without blocking light.<\/li>\n
    • Furniture Details:<\/strong> Use trellis patterns on cabinet doors, headboards, or chair backs to make them stand out.<\/li>\n
