Fitts’ Law is a model that predicts human movement. It says that the time to move to a target depends on two things: the distance to the target and the size of the target. Psychologist Paul Fitts created this principle in 1954. Within user interface design, this law applies to interactive elements like buttons, menus, and touch targets.\n<\/p>\n

In the digital world, Fitts’ Law shows that larger buttons are easier to click. It also explains why putting often-used controls at the edges or corners of the screen makes them easier to access and leads to fewer mistakes.\n<\/p>\n
