End users refer to the individuals who are the final users of the product; often someone for whom a product is being developed. They interact with a particular product and use its core functionalities the most.\n<\/p>\n

The major difference between a user and an end user is that the user can be anyone, even people who develop and test the product. On the other hand, an end user is the person the product is targeted towards and who will be using it the most.\n<\/p>\n

\nRefers to the person who purchases a product or has a relationship with the business.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What is an End User in UX Research?<\/h2>\n

In UX research, the end user is the person who uses a product. It is different from a customer as they are the individuals who buy a product. For example, a company buys learning software for their employees. While the company is a customer, the employees are the end users who actually end up using the software.<\/p>\n

UX researchers<\/a> often consider the needs and wants of an end user to understand the features a particular product should have. UX designers<\/a> often use insights regarding end users to create a product that is intuitive, accessible<\/a>, and useful.<\/p>\n

Types of End Users<\/h2>\n

Here are the different types of end-users –<\/p>\n

  • Primary Users –<\/strong> They are the main users who frequently interact with the core functionalities of the product.<\/li>\n
  • Secondary Users –<\/strong> They do not interact regularly with the product and engage with only some functionalities.<\/li>\n
  • Tertiary Users –<\/strong> These users interact with your product indirectly by getting involved in its development, marketing, or other functions.<\/li>\n
  • Stakeholders –<\/strong> Not \u201cend users\u201d per se but the individuals who are invested in the product\u2019s success. They may also occasionally interact with the product and suggest changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
