It is a law based on a psychological principle that the time it takes to make a decision increases logarithmically with the number of available choices.\n<\/p>\n<p>Hick\u2019s Law takes into consideration that the logarithmic relationship is not linear, more choices increase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andacademy.com\/resources\/blog\/ui-ux-design\/cognitive-load\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cognitive load<\/a>, and decision time may vary based on the complexity of the choices provided.\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Not to be confused with<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"not_confuse\">\n<div class=\"card-box\">\n<p>              <a href=\"https:\/\/www.andacademy.com\/resources\/glossary\/graphic-design\/what-is-resolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"text-decoration:none;\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"glo-box hovercard\">\n<p><strong>Fitt\u2019s Law<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is a model that predicts human movement.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><\/a>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Hick&#8217;s Law in Design<\/h2>\n<p>Hick\u2019s Law is applied in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.andacademy.com\/resources\/blog\/ui-ux-design\/what-is-ux-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UX Design<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andacademy.com\/resources\/blog\/ui-ux-design\/what-is-product-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Product Design<\/a> to understand how to simplify the decision-making process for the user.
