      What is Graphic Design?

      Graphic Design is the branch of design that deals with creating compelling visual communication using a combination of visual & textual content to communicate ideas, information and messages. Graphic designers work in both print and digital media, creating diverse outputs like posters, book covers, magazine layouts, print ads, social media graphics, and brand identities.

      What Graphic Design courses does AND Academy offer?

      We offer part-time courses that can be stacked or pursued incrementally. The shortest, fast-tracked option is the 18-week Certificate, after which you can pursue another 18 weeks of learning and earn the 36-week Advanced Certificate.


      03.

      What Graphic Design software will I learn?

      Through the coursework and software training sessions, you will learn Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Adobe Animate, Figma and Miro. With our Graphic Design courses, you will go far beyond merely operating software, since the emphasis is on training learners to think like designers.


      04.

      Do I need prior knowledge/experience in design?

      No prior design knowledge or experience is required to enrol in courses at AND Academy. However, having experience in design or a related field can be beneficial.


      05.

      I can’t draw very well. Does that matter?

      Not at all. As a Graphic Designer, you only need to create doodles and rough sketches of your ideas to get started, which anybody who knows how to hold a pencil can do! We don’t expect elaborate illustrations or artistic masterpieces. However, if you enjoy drawing, our mentors will help you develop these skills and shape your unique identity as a designer.

      How will I learn Graphic Design online?

      AND Academy’s Graphic Design courses are immersive and interactive, providing extensive human support. You’ll explore new concepts through live sessions, demonstrations, and presentations, creating an active learning environment. These are complemented by class activities, peer discussions, and constructive mentor feedback.

      Our tech-driven remote learning enables smooth collaboration and information sharing. With access to abundant learning resources, assignment guidelines, and feedback via our top-tier management system, Canvas, you’ll also use tools like Miro and Microsoft Teams for project collaboration. This experience with industry-standard platforms will prepare you for a successful career in design as remote work continues to grow.

      What are the course timings?

      Live sessions for part-time Certificate and Advanced Certificate courses are scheduled twice a week on weekdays in the evenings.

      What is the medium of instruction?

      The medium of instruction for both written and verbal communication will be English. A basic understanding of written and spoken English is necessary to pursue the course.


      09.

      What is the faculty-to-student ratio?

      To ensure a personalised learning experience, we limit each batch to 25-30 students.


      10.

      Will I get a Graphic Design certification on completion of the course?

      Upon successful completion of the course you pursue, you will be awarded a Graphic Design Certificate / Advanced Certificate, depending on the course you enrolled for.


      11.

      What if I don’t complete the course due to an unforeseen circumstance?

      Learners who are unable to continue learning for any reason can temporarily pause their course and resume in the next batch from the same point.

      Who are the mentors/instructors and how are they selected?

      Mentors and instructors at AND Academy comprise practising design professionals, industry leaders and seasoned academicians. Our distinguished group of mentors bring with them significant subject matter expertise, industry exposure and teaching experience.       Can I work full-time while studying?

      Absolutely! The part-time Graphic Design Certificate & Advanced Certificate courses have been tailored to accommodate the needs of working professionals, which is why the large majority of our students are working in full-time jobs alongside pursuing their courses. Our live classes are held in the evenings and will take up only 6 hours of your time every week; in addition to this, you need to set aside another 6 hours per week for self-study. This will enable you to balance work commitments with your learning journey fairly easily.


      14.

      Apart from the regular course classes, what other resources will I have access to by enrolling with AND academy?

      All AND learners get access to masterclasses and case study presentations besides their regular classes. These sessions are organised on a range of design topics and contribute to widening your exposure to industry practices and perspectives. We also organise design thinking workshops and career development sessions.

      Are there any age limitations to applying for a Graphic Design course at AND?

      There is no age limit for admission to our Graphic Design courses. However, the courses are best suited for individuals who are in the early stages of their careers, or looking to make a career switch to Graphic Design. If you have more extensive work experience, we encourage you to reach out to a Course Advisors for an online consultation, by filling the Enquiry form on the website. They will assess your profile and provide guidance based on your specific background.

      What is the eligibility for the Graphic Design courses?

      Our courses are ideally suited for graduates and working professionals, but you may apply for a course if you have completed high school, and are fluent in English. Since the courses are taught online, basic digital literacy and access to an individual laptop are also necessary.

      Other than these, there are no other prerequisites to enrol in our Graphic Design courses. In particular, there is no requirement to have prior design education or work experience.


      03.

      What kind of IT support is available to students?

      We offer IT assistance throughout the course to help resolve any issues that you may face with the digital platforms we use during the course.


      04.

      What is the admission process for the Graphic Design courses?

      The admission process is as follows:

      • Receive an offer of admission
      • Enrol for the course

      Will you provide feedback on an unsuccessful application?

      As a result of the high volume of applications that we receive for each enrollment period and the confidentiality of the deliberations of the Admissions Committee, we are unable to provide individual detailed feedback on unsuccessful applications.


      06.

      I don’t have an undergraduate degree. Can I still be considered for admission?

      Yes. While the majority of our learners do hold undergraduate and/or advanced degrees, it is not mandatory to have completed your undergraduates degree before applying for our course.       What extra costs can I expect while studying?

      All learners are expected to arrange a working computer / laptop with a mic and a web camera to attend our live sessions and work on design software for project work. You will also need some basic stationery such as sketchbooks, pens, pencils, etc.
