Pattern

A pattern refers to the repeating elements in a graphic design. It is basically an arrangement of colors, lines, or shapes that keep on repeating to form a cohesive design. Patterns are a great tool to create rhythm, balance, and visual interest in a design.

Graphic designers use patterns in their designs to create textures, borders, and backgrounds. Patterns can create movement in a design to add a sense of continuity to it. They serve many purposes, the most important being enhancing the quality of a design.
