Eyelet

An eyelet is a small hole finished with a ring, typically made of metal or plastic, used to reinforce the hole. It prevents the surrounding material from tearing. In interior design, an eyelet has a dual application, as a type of curtain hardware as well as a decorative style of fabric.

An eyelet is often used in curtains so it can slide easily across the curtain rod. It is also often used in cushions and to reinforce holes used in drawstrings. They are also used to create uniform folds in the curtain and add a delicate touch to the furniture.

Grommet

It refers to the ring inserted into a hole through thin material.

What is an Eyelet Ring?

In home interior design, an eyelet ring is a large metal or plastic ring set into the top of a curtain panel. Instead of using hooks, the curtain pole is threaded directly through these rings. This results in wide, soft, and uniform folds in a curtain that give the window a clean and contemporary look. Eyelet curtains are known for being easy to hang and operate.

What is an Eyelet Fabric?

Eyelet fabric is a lightweight textile characterized by small, patterned holes or eyelets. This fabric is used to create a delicate, lace-like effect. The holes are often arranged in floral or geometric patterns, making the fabric both breathable and visually appealing. Due to its airy quality, eyelet fabric is popularly used for bedding and delicate home accessories.
