Illustration

Illustration is a visual element that is used to present or interpret a written word. It is also a decorative element that is used to present certain ideas. Illustrations are generally found in newspapers, books, magazines, etc.

In graphic design, digital illustrations are used in websites and apps to improve their user experience. Illustrations can be quite versatile and can even include emojis along with drawings and sketches.

What is Illustration Design?

Illustration design refers to the discipline that uses visual design for storytelling. It is used to convey a specific idea as opposed to graphic design which represents something visually as a whole.

Illustrations convey stories or ideas visually in mediums such as books, magazines, social media posts, advertisements, and video games. Illustration design can be created via drawing, painting, sketching, etc., and is used to present an idea through images.
