End users refer to the individuals who are the final users of the product; often someone for whom a product is being developed. They interact with a particular product and use its core functionalities the most.
The major difference between a user and an end user is that the user can be anyone, even people who develop and test the product. On the other hand, an end user is the person the product is targeted towards and who will be using it the most.
Customer
Refers to the person who purchases a product or has a relationship with the business.
In UX research, the end user is the person who uses a product. It is different from a customer as they are the individuals who buy a product. For example, a company buys learning software for their employees. While the company is a customer, the employees are the end users who actually end up using the software.
UX researchers often consider the needs and wants of an end user to understand the features a particular product should have. UX designers often use insights regarding end users to create a product that is intuitive, accessible, and useful.
