Wingback Chair

A wingback chair refers to a type of armchair that has distinctive “wings” extending from its backrest to its armrest. These chairs were originally designed to protect the person sitting on them from air currents and winds.

Wingback chairs are also often used to give a sense of seclusion. They are treated as decorative pieces with high prestige. WIngback chairs with ottomans are especially popular in various traditional interior design styles as they offer a sophisticated look.

Difference Between a Wingback Chair and an Armchair

Wingback chairs and armchairs are both great options for your home. The main difference between the two is the unique “wings” of a wingback chair that are on either side of its headrest.
